My Story
Many career coaches fall into this profession. I am one of those unusual ones who knew since college that I wanted to help people plan their careers. As soon as I graduated in 2011, I started Launched by Linda to gain experience in editing resumes, cover letters, and college essays while I worked towards my graduate degree.
I did my share of nonlinear career exploration until I earned my master's degree in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University, where I got my dream job as a college career counselor. Then I discovered coaching and got my training at New York University.
Since then, I have worked as a career counselor at 3 universities in 3 states (New York, Utah, Texas) while serving clients in various industries all over the US and abroad. I’ve edited thousands of resumes and taught hundreds of students in college career development courses. I love helping clients increase self-awareness and explore opportunities to make successful career changes and transitions.
Over time, I developed unique frameworks for personal branding, career progress, career change, and interview preparation (CARLA) that are helping clients get job offers at all levels. I’ve created and shared enormous amounts of content by writing articles, speaking in webinars and podcasts, and presenting at conferences. I've also edited articles written by other career coaches for the National Career Development Association.
I’ve worked on the employer side writing job descriptions, serving on hiring committees, and networking with recruiters on-site. I have a very good idea of what employers are looking for.
I have struggled through all the career issues my clients have been through – confusion, indecisiveness, uncertainty, rejections, frustrations, disappointments, boredom, difficult bosses, toxic environments, rebranding – and come out on the other side to help you chart your way forward!
